Covert Surveillance Operative

Surveillance Awareness and Surveillance Detection Course

Surveillance Detection

Who the course is aimed at:

This course is designed to teach students primarily with a close protection background how to protect their Principal against sophisticated threats through anti and counter surveillance. Counter surveillance is an often neglected part of close protection training.
If a surveillance team is observing your Principal they are possibly gathering intelligence prior to carrying out an attack or kidnap. Either way, any surveillance team identified shadowing your Principal poses a very significant and immediate threat.

On this course you will learn how to detect if your Principal has been placed under surveillance. You will learn what to look out for and how to lay traps to confirm your suspicions by designing and implementing counter surveillance routes. By the end of the course you will be able to carry out sophisticated 'overt' and 'covert' drills to either evade, deter or gather intelligence on the most sophisticated of surveillance teams.

The course includes:

  1. The Surveillance Threat
  2. Planning & Briefing
  3. Foot & Mobile Surveillance Methods
  4. Recognising Surveillance Teams
  5. Covert & Overt Anti Surveillance
  6. Counter Surveillance Routes (SDR)
  7. Satellite Vehicle Tracking
  8. Realistic Practical Day & Night Exercises
  9. Digital Photography

 What the students can expect:

This course component teaches the skill sets required to operate as a sophisticated counter surveillance team. In order to fully appreciate 'what to look for' it also teaches the basic understanding of how a surveillance team operates.

Mobile Surveillance

Who the course is aimed at:

This course component covers foot and mobile surveillance. We have taught those with absolutely no experience and also those who have been in the industry for some time. If you are a motorcyclist, we can also teach you motorbike surveillance.

What students can expect:

The skills taught are those necessary for gathering evidence by covert means and to become a proficient surveillance operator. We teach how to carry out surveillance on foot, by vehicle and by static point.

These skills are then put into practice by carrying out supervised surveillance exercises. The training is further enhanced with lessons on legal issues in relation to evidence gathering, photography and vehicle tracking.

The system of surveillance we teach is in a three car team which is how we would expect any professional surveillance team to operate in. This way, you also have the knowledge, understanding and experience to operate effectively in a two man team should this be the case.
